Warning to dog walkers after dogs were poisoned on Cleethorpes Beach.

Warning to dog walkers after dogs were poisoned on Cleethorpes beach.

A dog walker is warning other dog owners of walking near the yacht club and Tetney marshes. When she got home from a walk with her dogs they became violently sick.

She smelt a strong smell of petrol. When she rushed them to the vets the vet said that he had seen other dogs with the same sickness since Friday.

He confirmed when he took samples that it smelled like petrol. It is believed the dogs did not eat anything but drank from the sea. There was also a dead seal further up the beach.

The matter has been reported to the Beach safety team. And incident reports have been submitted to NE Lincs Council Pollutions Team and the Nation Environmental Agency.

They can NOT advise the public not to use the area until it has been investigated. It is thought that it may be something bought up by the bad weather. So please be vigilant when walking your dog

The photo shows the area she walked the dogs.
