£20k of jewellery stolen

£20k of jewellery stolen in Rotherham – Can you help?

Officers in Rotherham are appealing for help after an elderly couple’s home was reportedly burgled while they were away on holiday.

The home, situated on Whitehall Road in the Greasbrough area, is said to have been targeted in a 24-hour window between midday on 10 October and midday on 11 October.

We believe that an unknown offender, or offenders, have entered the property by breaking a rear window.

It’s believed that over 300 pieces of jewellery were taken in the incident. The pieces are worth around £20,000 in total. There was also extensive damage done to the inside of the property.

Much of the jewellery is very distinctive, featuring magnetic clips as well as the standard clasps.

Officers have now released stock images of five of the pieces, and the distinctive magnetic clasps.

We would like to hear from anyone who has been offered the items for sale, or anyone who saw something suspicious on Whitehall Road on 10 or 11 of October.

Information can be reported via 101 quoting investigation 14/154263/19. Alternatively, you can speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
