Can Melanie Hang On(n)?: Labour predicted to LOSE the Grimsby seat

For the first time ever since 1945, the Labour stronghold is set to lose it’s Grimsby seat on the December 12 general election.

Polls suggests that the Conservatives are ahead of Labour by 13 points currently, meaning Labour’s MP Melanie Onn (pictured) could be ousted from her seat.

Grimsby voted to leave the EU with a massive 71.45% margin in the 2016 Brexit vote but ‘remainer’, Onn, has divided opinion in the town. First, she backed the remain campaign both before and after the Brexit result, then later supported Boris Johnson’s Brexit plan in October.

Cleethorpes constituency is already a firm Tory favourite with voters since 2010 under MP Martin Vickers.

Brexit is the key issue for the town and it seems residents just want to see democracy done and people get what they voted for 3 years ago.

With weeks to go everything is still to play for, and Conservative candidate Lia Nici is doing all she can to win your vote. But will she get it?
