Lincoln mother-of-three forced to live in hotel room

Vicky Robinson, 41, from Lincoln, was evicted from her Council property nearly three months ago and has ever since been living, with her children, in various budget hotels.

She is currently staying in one room in the city’s Travelodge hotel.

Vicky was evicted when her rent got into arrears and she was not able to pay monies owed due to an error with her benefits payments. The Council placed the family of four into temporary accommodation in a hotel and they have been passed from lodging to lodging ever since.

Council figures as to how many other families are in the same accommodation nightmare are unknown but other ‘residents’ suggest that many families will be facing Christmas in a hotel room this year if the Council does not find suitable accommodation in time.
