There have been warnings from emergency services that a former Cleethorpes school is a death trap. Children are running amok they are smashing windows, letting off fire extinguishers and ripping off roof tiles. They have warned that parents need to know where their children are going.
The former Thrunscoe junior school on Highgate is a danger. Humberside Fire and Rescue Service have had to rescue two children from the roof of the building which is derelict. They had to use ladders and thermal imaging cameras to locate the children who were hiding.
Almost every night children from the age of 12 years old have been causing damage. Windows and doors have been boarded up but they are torn down repeatedly. following calls from concerned residents police are having to attend the site nightly.
Humberside Police said the site is a danger and they urge people to let them know if they see people going into the site. It is a fire hazard and it is a dangerous site. Talks will be held with the owners to examine security.
Planning permission has been granted to transform the site with 42 semi-detached houses after the building is demolished.
