An 8 year old boy left disabled for life through negligence at Grimsby Hospital has been awarded over £9m million in compensation.

Admitted with a severe, but at this time unspecified condition, the negligent care has left him disabled and with permanent brain damage.

Now in his twenties, the man, has had a High Court Ruling in his favour awarding him the settlement from Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.

The Trust have acknowledged full responsibility and agreed to the settlement figure. They have also issued an apology.

The man is expected to receive an initial lump sum followed by yearly payments to cover the cost of all his care needs.
