Can Corbyn remain neutral on Brexit

Jeremy Corbyn said he would remain neutral in a future Brexit referendum if Labour wins power.

On BBC Question Time leaders’ special he said he would not campaign for Leave or Remain so it would allow him to “credibly” carry out what the voters then decide if he were prime minister.

Boris Johnson later asked how Mr Corbyn could be “indifferent” on such a vital issue.

The question is certainly how will he convince the EU to accept a new deal that may well be voted against by the very party that negotiated it.  Some within the party are also concerned by this neutral stance of the impact that the Pro Eu Lid Dems may have.

He also said in the debate his plans included to take Royal Mail, the railways, the water industry and broadband delivery into public ownership which had been “set out” very clearly and were aimed at “delivering an economy that works for all”.
