Cash machine gang jailed.
A gang who ripped a cash machine from a store in Holton-Le-Clay with a JCB causing £25,000 worth of damage to the building and destroying £10,000 of stock. Also thousands of pounds worth of damage to the cash machine. Were in a high speed chase with police through Grimsby. The gang members also threw bricks and a circular saw at the police.
The car reached speeds of 130mph before it collided with a police car and garden gates.
When the car stopped the car windscreen of the police car in pursuit was smashed with a monkey wrench by a gang member.
The four men who ripped the ATM from McColl’s in Holton-Le-Clay were jailed at Lincoln Crown Court. It is believed the money from the cash machine was recovered.
Thomas Boswell 32 of French Street, Bentley, Doncaster, Ashley Squires, 36 of Huthwaite Lane, Old Blackwell, Alfreton, Alan Pearson, 33 of Tolney Lane, Newark, and Jordan Herring, 38, of the Homestead, Bentley, Doncaster each admitted burglary and aggravated vehicle taking as a result of the incident on October 11th.
Alan Pearson also admitted to charges of assaulting an emergency worker and criminal damage to a police car. He was jailed for four years and eight months. Squires was jailed for four years and four months and Boswell and Herring were both jailed for four years,
They were also banned from driving Pearson for 40 months, Squires for 38 months and Boswell and Herring for three years.
A court hearing to consider confiscation of assets under the proceeds of crime act has been adjourned until the new year.
