By Reports are flooding in that Met Police have rushed to the scene on London Bridge amid gunshots being fired near London Bridge Hospital.
Photos of the scene show a lorry across the bridge, with traffic at the scene locked down.
Eyewitnesses report a man running around with a knife has been shot dead.
The London Ambulance crews are at the scene.
Update 15:15 – Met Police have confirmed that a man has been detained following a stabbing. The brave members of the public held down the man with the knife before the police arrived on scene.
The man has been shot by police.
Update 15:21 – Reports of a white van acting suspicious, turning around on the bridge before the attack happened. Police are carrying out investigations.
Update 15:27 – Met Police confirm they are responding to the incident as terror related, although the circumstances remain unclear.
