Clugston Construction Collapse?

Reports are coming in that Clugston Construction will go into administration at midnight tonight.

It is reported staff were told today at 4pm by Cheif Executive Glynn Thomas that all desks need to be cleared and formal notice will be received tomorrow.

This is another terrible loss for the area and staff especially in the run up to Christmas.

According to documents filed with the court on 3 December, Clugston Group, Clugston Construction and the haulage business Clugston Distribution Services have all filed notices of intention to appoint administrators.

It is expected to confirm that insolvency partners with accountant KPMG are to be formally appointed.

Scunthorpe construction giant Clugston Group recorded its largest ever turnover in 2017, shrugging off a “small loss” as it restructured to cope with the astounding growth and ensure a sustainable future.

Employee numbers were up eight per cent in the year. The biggest hit was in the construction sector, £529,000 in the red in the year to January 31, 2017, against a £1.2 million profit for 2016.
