Appeal to help a family who has lost everything.

An appeal has been set up to help a family who has lost everything in a devastating house fire. The fire started in the kitchen of the house in Montague Street when the mum of five Mary-Ann Blyth was at work.

It was very lucky that her childminder spotted the danger and got two of the children to safety as the fire took hold. The fire swept through the downstairs of the home. The fire happened on Sunday and fire crews quickly had the fire under control.

The family is now living with a relative. An appeal has been launched to help the family with some of the possessions ruined including an X-Box, computer tablets, school uniforms all being ruined. The family was looking forward to a lovely Christmas at home but it is now ruined.

Humberside Fire and Rescue believe the fire originated in an understairs cupboard housing an electric meter. You can donate on the gofundme House Fire page set up by Tracey Godfrey.
