Santa Claus is coming to………………the seafront?

North East Lincolnshire Council’s Beach Safety team are getting into the festive spirit with a Christmas fundraiser.

Members of the Beach Safety team will be transforming their beach bikes into Santa’s sleigh and will even have a visit from Santa and his elves.

Children are invited to come and have a picture with Santa on the beach bike, and will also receive a letter from the man himself – direct from the North Pole – to take home.

Councillor Stewart Swinburn, cabinet member for Environment and Transport, said: “We’re proud Santa has chosen to visit Cleethorpes at such a busy time and hope he’ll spread some festive cheer.

“This is a wonderful opportunity not only for local children to meet Santa, but to extend the Christmas spirit to those less fortunate as part of the Mayor’s charity fund.

“I’d like to thank the Beach Safety team for bringing some magic to the borough and for their year-round hard work and dedication.”

The event takes place at Beach Safety, opposite Cleethorpes Pier, on 21 and 22 December from 11am to 2pm.

Children hoping to meet Santa must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Please remember to bring a camera or smartphone if you’d like to have a picture with Santa.

Money raised from the event will be donated to the Mayoral fund which benefits local charities as chosen by the Mayor of North East Lincolnshire, Cllr Terry Walker.
