Is this mum right to be outraged?

Mum is outraged over school rules.

A Mum from Cleethorpes is angry after her daughter was put in isolation at her school for wearing an extra earing. Her daughter a pupil in year 11 was put in isolation after she turned up at Havelock Academy with a helix piercing which breaks the school rules.

It is believed that her daughter was threatened with expulsion if she fails to remove the piercing which is on her upper outer ear. The only items of jewellery which are admitted in the school are a wristwatch but not smartwatches,  and a single plain pair of studs that are worn in the lower lobe only the school uniform policy states. Additional jewellery on the face body or tongue is not allowed. But her daughter believes that there are at least a dozen other pupils walking around with piercing everywhere. But because the teachers have not seen them they get away with it.

Her daughter’s helix piercing must be kept in for at least three to six months to avoid it closing up, but could take up to a year to fully heal. Her daughter has said she will wear a plaster over it but she could be excluded if she returns in January with it still in.

Havelock Academy said that We are very clear about our high expectations on our uniform and our policy is readily available on our website.
