Birmingham Yardley MP said the next leader had to be able to unite the whole Labour movement in a video message to supporters.Mrs Phillips believes she’s not the person who is able to do so and also states she had to be honest with herself.

On the other hand, Lisa Nandy’s campaign received a major boost after she won the backing of the GMB union. The organisation also backed Angela Rayner to be the next deputy.
Ms Phillips missed the hustings organised by the GMB on Tuesday, which raised concerns that the campaign is trouble.
She thanked everyone for the support given at the time of the campaign, especially the Jewish member of the party who she will continue to stand up for.
She also states she will always speak out and promises she will change the problems within her party.
During her interview with the BBC she said:
“that she would support one of the other female candidates in the race if she couldn’t become a leader.”
Mrs Philips was praised for her courage and Sir Keir said she would play a huge part for the party in the future. He also said it was a shame to lose Jess however they have to carry on and keep focus.
