The sad fall from grace of a Grimsby footballer.

A young man from Grimsby was a promising member of the Grimsby Town School of Excellence and was signed up by Hull City for a six-figure sum.when he was just 15 years old. Four years later he signed up for Boston United after he failed to make his mark.

It is believed that Jack Barlow was once chased by Manchester City and Manchester United. But he has now been banned from all the pubs in Cleethorpes after he headbutted another man and hurled a glass in his face in an unprovoked attack.

He played only nine minutes of football for the Conference North outfit and his contract was terminated by mutual consent. He then moved to Cleethorpes Town in 2014 but that to was shortlived and his football career ended at the age of 21.

Jack Barlow turned to drink after the disappointment of his football career being cut short at the age of just  21.  He had been drinking most of the day when the incident happened. The two men began arguing in The Zero Degrees Noth bar in High Street Cleethorpes the conversation became heated. Barlow then headbutted the other man and threw a glass into his face.

The victim had cuts to his forehead near his eye and on his neck and ear and was bleeding heavily. Do0r staff helped the victim and it is believed that Barlow left showing no concern for the victim. he had convictions for three previous assaults.

Jack Barlow said he is deeply ashamed of his actions it is thought that he was distressed and visibly upset that he was capable of doing something like that.

Jack Barlow was jailed for 20months and was banned from Cleethorpes licensed premises for two years.
