Grandson swindled his grandmother out of nearly £24k.

A very callous grandson swindled his trusting elderly grandmother out of nearly £24k. She had looked after him since he was the age of one. Harrison Davies 23 used his grandmother’s details to open bank card accounts. He bought drugs and goods for about two years.

Later he tried to lie his way out of it and tried to blame an innocent person for what he had done.  At Grimsby Crown Court he admitted to a series of fraud and attempted fraud offences and perverting the course of justice.

The total amount of the fraud came to £23,974 he also attempted to make false transactions of more than £1,000. This dishonesty took place between November 2016 and November 2018. He falsely claimed that his grandmother wanted to drop the case and not cooperate with the police.

It is believed that his grandmother is extremely disappointed with her grandson, she loved him because he was her grandson but also hated him some days it has left her stressed out and very shaken up. It is thought that he became very ashamed at what he had done and had shown genuine remorse.

Harrison Davies was jailed for two years and a telephone he used in the frauds will be confiscated.
