Good news for The Ark.

The Ark Animal Rescue Centre in North Somercotes has been fighting a noise abatement order for more than a year. It was served on them by East Lindsey District Council in November 2018.

For more than 30 years the charity had been established in the village. But after a complaint made to the authority about dogs barking, but the staff felt that they had been given an impossible task to stop the dogs after being served the order. The Ark has seen a downturn in the number of animals they could rehome and they felt this was because of the noise abatement order. Because they had to stop taking people down to the kennel area to stop the dogs from barking.

The Sanctuary was faced with an uncertain future, despite receiving huge public support and a donation of £10,000 in order to soundproof the property. There was also a petition asking the council to rescind the order and this was backed by more than 13,000 people. A campaign raised £9,600 by Crowdfunding to help with legal costs.

But Bridge McFarland a local law firm has helped resolve the matter free of charge. It has been confirmed that after discussion between the parties the notice and the appeal are both withdrawn.

It is fantastic news for The Ark and many supporters have thanked the Solicitors for immediately stepping forward and offering their services.
