Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire funding is helping businesses to become more energy efficient with LED lighting

The Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire programme, led by North East Lincolnshire Council on behalf on the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, is offering grants, free advice, onsite audits and workshops to help businesses to save money and become more energy efficient.

The programme has seen businesses making the strategic move to LED lighting and for a good reason too!

A simple change from florescent lighting could make your business more energy efficient by up to 65%.

Grayton Ltd is one of the many companies that have benefited from the programme and was awarded a grant to make the change to LED lights.

Richard Marshall, Managing Director at Grayton Ltd, said that:

“The grant has enabled Grayton Ltd to invest in new lighting both in the workshop and site. The payback for the project is an amazing 2.5 years and the saving will be ours for the next 10 years, as the new lights have a 10 year warranty. A supplier, based in Immingham were a great help to us sourcing and fitting the new lighting at our convenience. It’s good for two local companies to work together to help save the worlds resources”

The Smart Energy programme offers free energy saving workshops with a £500 gift to go towards an energy saving product of your choice. For a small office this could cover the total cost of new LED lighting.

Alternatively, for larger energy saving projects we offer 38% funding to cover the total cost of the project.

The programme also offers for eligible businesses free expert advice and onsite audits from leading industry experts in energy and resource efficiency.

The audit is tailored to the company, helping them to make changes that will make the biggest difference to their energy output.

Helen Norris, Programme Manager for Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire, said:

“It’s really great to be working with a wide range of business from different sectors to help them reduce their energy bills and implement energy saving measures. We have seen a big increase in business wanting to change to LED lighting; which not only reduces their carbon footprint but improves the quality of lighting in offices for their employees”

One of the benefit to LED lights is that you can choose the colour and brightness specifically for your needs. This means depending on your industry you can find the perfect lighting for all your activities such as showing products off, or even improving the concentration of your employees.
