Grimsby Town v Scunthorpe tickets sell out!
Grimsby Town have sold out of their ticket allocation for the League 2 derby clash with Scunthorpe United on March 7th.
They had received 2,090 tickets. 1,678 tickets were in the AMS Stand and 412 tickets in the East Stand Family Area of Glanford Park / the Sands Venue Stadium.
These went on sale to season ticket holders first.
The atmosphere of the game is expected to mirror the one at Blundell Park in December, where Scunthorpe United won 1-0. It was Scunthorpe’s first league victory at Blundell Park since January 1969.
One reaction to December’s game said:
“Great character from Scunthorpe United today and sounds like they should have won the game. With limited resources, Hurst is able to get his side perform admirably.”
In a Grimsby Town match report, it was said that: “the Mariners produced a performance full of effort and determination against their nearest neighbours and were the better side for much of the contest.
“But as had been the case in other recent games, they were unable to convert their opportunities and this time, were made to pay.”
Grimsby Town are currently 16th in the League Two table. Scunthorpe United are one place below. This means that respectively, they are 15 and 16 steps away from the play-offs.
Odds are not yet available for the upcoming Grimsby Town v Scunthorpe United game.
In the unlikely event that any additional tickets are provided, they will be on sale via the Grimsby Town website on March 2nd.
