Coronavirus case in Hertfordshire.

80% of the UK could catch Coronavirus

The first patient in Hertfordshire has tested positive for Coronavirus.

This is after the first British man, who has yet to be named, died after becoming ill on board the Diamond Princess cruise ship.

Professor Chris Whitty – the chief medical officer for the Department of Health and Social Care – announced that three further patients have been tested as positive and one of them is in Hertfordshire.

Professor Chris Whitty said: “As of 9am this morning, three further patients in England have tested positive for COVID-19.

“Two patients recently returned from Italy and the other patient recently returned from Asia. All three are being investigated and contact tracing has begun.

Today’s three new cases brings the UK total up to 23.
