Road Testing to begin on Little Coates Road

Road testing on the condition of Little Coates Road, between Cambridge Road and Yarborough Road, will begin on Sunday the 15th of March.

North East Lincolnshire Council have said that these works are essential for engineers to take samples of the road and understand the road condition and structure of the subsurface.

This is ahead of the planning of a future carriageway resurfacing scheme which is scheduled to start later this year.

Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in operation between 09:00 and 18:00.

The works should only take one day to complete, and will be overseen by North East Lincolnshire Council’s regeneration partner ENGIE.

Southam Services have been contracted to complete the works, and all residents and businesses will be contacted in advance.

The council have said that the nearby B1444 Little Coates Road/Cambridge Road junction improvements will not impact these works but the temporary controlled crossing point will be remaining in operation to allow pedestrians a safe crossing point.
