The defendant indicated no plea to the charge of wounding the pensioner with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He was accompanied by a dock custody officer, while his father and grandmother waited in the public gallery.

The hearing lasted 10–minutes, and the

case was adjourned until Wednesday at Grimsby Youth Court when it will be decided whether the case should stay there or go to Grimsby Crown Court.

The boy has now been remanded into the care of the local authority, with conditions that he lives where directed and complies with bail supervision arrangements.

Two police representatives were also in court for the hearing.

It is alleged that she was then pushed to the ground, causing a serious head injury.
