Shows at Grimsby Auditorium postponed
Shows at Grimsby Auditorium are to be postponed until further notice. The first show to be affected is tonight’s appearance by comedian Kevin Bloody Wilson.
This is in addition to the closure of cinemas across the country amid coronavirus fears.
Those who have tickets for upcoming shows will be contacted if they are affected.
This comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged people to avoid all non-essential contact, including visiting theatres during the coronavirus crisis.
The Auditorium have issued a statement:
“After very careful consideration and in collaboration with the promoter, tonight’s show Kevin Bloody Wilson will not be going ahead.
This is in response to the Government’s announcement yesterday, advising the UK public to avoid unnecessary contact, highlighting theatres.
For this reason we have temporarily postponed upcoming shows.
Due to the ambiguity and the lack of clarity, we don’t know how long this may be for, therefore we are working with the producers of all our shows and taking guidance from industry specialists.
We will post further information as soon as possible.
Please note, due to the high demand on our frontline staff, we ask all of our customers to please bear with us in these difficult times.
We will contact you regarding your upcoming performances as we have more information, and, as soon as possible.”
Grimsby Auditorium have several shows scheduled over the next few months and are expected to advise separately on each one, as information is released, and in line with government advice.
