Humberside Police search for Joshua Esberger

Humberside Police are searching for Joshua Esberger, 26, in connection with a violent armed robbery on Stockshill Road, Scunthorpe.

The robbery took place shortly after 8pm on Monday 16 April 2018.

A man was working at the back of his van when he was violently assaulted by three unknown men, leaving him with life-altering injuries.

Although detectives have carried out extensive enquiries and made a number of arrests in connection with the case, as yet no one has been charged. Humberside Police would like to speak with Mr Esberger in connection with the incident.

The victim, whose identity is being withheld for his safety, said:

“I just want justice. I don’t know who did it and I don’t care what their reason was. I just want justice.

What happened that night still affects me. I suffer from flashbacks and depression and I am constantly looking over my shoulder.

It’s had a huge impact on me, my life and my livelihood. I lost my sight in my right eye and I was in pot for 11 months because of injuries to my arm.

I just want them locked up for my own peace of mind.”

Four men, aged 46, 31, 33 and 62 have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been released.

They are, however, still under investigation by Humberside Police.

Two further men arrested in connection with the incident have been released without charge.

If you can help locate Joshua Esberger, please call the non-emergency 101 line, quoting incident number 16/43406/18.

If you would rather not give your name, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
