More cases of coronavirus in Lincolnshire

More cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Lincolnshire.

The United Lincolnshire NHS Health Trust has announced that three additional people being treated at two hospitals in the county.

They have revealed that one person is being treated at Lincoln County Hospital, while two others are at Boston Pilgrim Hospital.

This follows the confirmation that two patients were being treated for coronavirus at Grimsby’s Diana Princess of Wales Hospital.

Overall, a number of patients contracted the virus and were treated at hospitals in Grimsby and Scunthorpe.

It is believed that that situation developed after the virus was contracted from a patient who was being treated in isolation.

A ULHT spokesperson said:

“We can confirm that we are treating three patients with confirmed Covid-19 in our hospitals.

Two are being cared for at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston and the third is at Lincoln County Hospital. Every infection prevention precaution is being taken, including caring for these patients in isolation.

Our staff caring for the patients are trained and equipped to do so safely.”

Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust imposed tighter visiting guidelines at its hospitals last week.
