Grimsby Town Football Club have announced that they will be donating over 1000 tickets to NHS and healthcare professionals for the 2020/21 season.

They join other teams such as Brighton and Hove Albion, and Bournemouth AFC, who are also donating tickets to health care professionals and frontline workers fighting the Covid-19 crisis.

This comes after Premier League Watford Football Club announced that they would be offering their stadium to the NHS during the Covid-19 crisis, for whatever use they see fit.

Throughout the 2020/21 season, Grimsby Town Football Club will be donating 50 tickets in the Main Stand per league game, which equates to Grimsby Town FC donating over 1000 2020/21 tickets to NHS over the course of the season.

The club has said:

“These heroes are putting their health and their lives on the line to help care for those in need of assistance and as a thank you to them, we want to welcome as many as possible to Blundell Park once this virus has been contained.”

Locals have applauded the move:

“Fantastic gesture! I’ll pass this message along to my NHS colleagues – thanks for supporting us!”

“Proud to be a Mariner. Great gesture Town!”

Further details regarding Grimsby Town FC’s giveaway of 2020/21 tickets are to be announced once the season resumes.
