Yesterday, officers from Grimsby’s Policing Team and Operation Galaxy continue served a drugs warrant at a house on Duncombe Gardens in Grimsby.

One man has been taken into custody. He will be questioned in relation to possession of Class A drugs and a firearm found at the address.

Operation Galaxy is a group of detectives and officers from a range of departments including but not limited to Major Crime, Intelligence and Economic Crime. They are targeting the criminals who pose the biggest threat to communities across the Humberside Force area.

It has been operational since October 2019.

Thus far, over 100 arrests have been made, numerous warrants executed and thousands of pounds worth of drugs and cash seized.

Inspector Dave Stephenson of Humberside Police said:

“This disruption and enforcement activity was conducted as a direct result of information received by the police from the public and was executed as part of a clampdown on drug dealing and organised crime across Humberside.

We are fully aware that the activities of those involved in the supply of controlled drugs offences can have a severe effect on communities through the creation of crime and anti-social behaviour hotspots and exploitation of the vulnerable.  The long term effect of these activities can result in a significant decline in the community.

If you have information about crime in your area, please speak to a local officer, call our non-emergency 101 line or, if you’d prefer to remain anonymous, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
