Humberside Police issue appeal over Humberston assault

Humberside Police have issued an appeal over an assault which occurred in Humberston last month.

The assault left a 85-year-old woman from Humberston seriously injured shortly after 18:00 on Tuesday the 10th of March.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for a woman who stopped and helped the elderly victim to get in touch.

The assault is said to have taken place on Haile Road following an altercation between an 85-year-old woman and a group of teenage boys who were loitering outside the woman’s home.

It was reported that one of the boys allegedly pushed the woman, causing her to fall over.

Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries, where she remains in a stable condition.

After an appearance at Grimsby Magistrates Court, a 13-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with assault and section 18 grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident.

It is believed that a woman, or possibly two women, stopped to help the victim providing initial first aid and blankets. As part of police investigations, Humberside Police are asking them to please get in touch as they may have important information.
