Thames Valley Police appeal following assault in Oxford

Officers for Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident of assault in Oxford last night.

At approximately 10.40pm, an assault occurred on Cowley Road near to the junction with Belvedere Road involving a group of up to seven people.

The offenders were believed to be in a dark-coloured Audi.

A metal pole was used during the attack and several people sustained injuries.

Two victims, aged 23 and 28, were treated at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with numerous injuries, one had a cut to the back of his head and another had a swollen black eye.

A third person, believed to be an Asian male, is also thought to have been injured.

The offenders are all described as Asian males between the age of 17 and 29 years old.

A 17-year-old boy from Oxford has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and making threats to kill, and a 27-year-old man from Oxford has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

They both remain in police custody at this time.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Charlotte Oliver of Force CID based at Oxford, said:

“I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this incident or may have dash-cam footage from the area last night, to please make contact with police.
