Armed police sent to Doncaster town after suspected break-in

It has been reported that armed police officers were sent to out to a Doncaster town in the middle of the night after concerns that someone was trying to break into a business.

Officers for South Yorkshire Police, were sent out at around 11pm on Friday evening, last week, according to officers, who also confirmed that the armed response unit had been sent to the scene.

Some residents in Askern have been concerned about break-ins at business premises in recent weeks.

A police spokesperson said:

“Police were called at 10.55pm on Friday evening after reports of suspicious activity near to Furniture World in Askern.

“It was reported a number of offenders were attempting to access the premises.

“Officers were deployed but the premises was found to be secure.

“No arrests were made.”
