Following a proactive stop by drugs officers on Burringham Road, Scunthorpe at approximately 10pm last night, Sunday 10 May, two arrests have been made.

Humberside Police have reported that a substance suspected of being cannabis, cash, cultivating equipment and mobile phones were seized from a vehicle.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of money laundering, possession of an offensive weapon and possession with intent to supply a Class B drug. One of the men was also arrested for driving under influence of drugs.

The men remain in custody as the investigation continues.

This follows the arrest of seven men on Crosby Avenue, Scunthorpe, following an incident of violent disorder on Saturday.

Officers were quickly in attendance and seven men were arrested, all of them remain in custody whilst enquiries continue.

Chief Inspector Paul French said:

“I want to thank the public for reporting this as quickly as they did so that we could attend and prevent anyone getting seriously injured.

“There will be extra police patrols in the area today, not only to carry out investigative enquires but to offer reassurance to the local community.

“We have seven men in custody at this time while we establish the circumstances of the incident and what offences have taken place.”
