Police hunt for armed man on Cleethorpes High Street

Officers for Humberside Police are hunting for a man who is reportedly armed, after they were called to Cleethorpes High Street last night.

It is alleged that a Cleethorpes resident was threatened in his flat which led to road closures.

The incident happened in a flat close to The BarRacuda and Swashbuckle pubs.

Today, the police man hunt continues.

Humberside Police have confirmed that they are continuing their investigation into the report that a man threatened a man in a flat in High Street, Cleethorpes last night.

Cleethorpes High Street and Alexandra Road and Grant Street were blocked and cordoned off by armed officers and a dog section team between around 8 and 10 pm last night while officers negotiated with a man in a flat.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said:

“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of an incident in Cleethorpes High Street, where a man is reported to have been threatened.

“We were called at shortly before 8pm last night by a man who said he had been threatened by a man who is known to him, whilst visiting his address. 

No one was injured in the incident and enquiries are continuing today.”
