Fatal collision in Immingham

A man has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Immingham this morning, Humberside Police have reported.

The incident occurred in North Killingholme in Immingham this morning, Friday 15 May.

At around 7.20am, Police received a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a car on East Halton Road.

An air ambulance landed in a field next to East Halton Road.

Traffic was blocked in both directions, and the road was soon closed. It has now reopened.

It is the second major incident to occur at the location within a year.

Deputy chairman of South Killingholme parish council Dianne Evans said:

“There are about half a dozen different speed limits within a mile.

Sometimes it is 40 and other times it is 50mph. People get confused.”

The male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Anyone who may have seen the collision is asked to call police on 101, quoting log 52 of 15 May 2020.
