Phone ‘n’ Ride service to resume

North East Lincolnshire Council have announced that their Phone ‘n’ Ride Service is to resume.

The service had previously been suspended in March, amid concerns relating to the coronavirus crisis.

The Phone ‘n’ Ride service is set to be back up and running from Monday 1 June.

This follows discussions between North East Lincolnshire Council, ENGIE, and Stagecoach East Midlands.

The service is restarting to support local residents with essential journeys such as travelling to and from work, attending medical appointments and essential shopping.

Temporarily, the service is unable to accept leisure trips, in line with Government guidelines.

Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment and transport, said:

“The safety of all passengers and the drivers is our key priority. Passengers will see a range of new safety measures for passengers and drivers, including enhanced cleaning routines and social distancing measures, all in line with Government guidelines.

“The service will continue to accept new passengers to ensure that residents are able to get to and from work, attend medical appointments and shop for essentials.”

If you would like to register and book a journey,  you can contact the Phone ‘n’ Ride Booking Team on 01472324440.

The Phone ‘n’ Ride Team say they have written to all existing passengers of the service advising of the additional safety measures in place and announcing the return of the service.
