Lowest UK daily deaths since lockdown began

The UK has announced its lowest number of daily deaths since the country went into lockdown.

It has been recorded today that a further 55 people have died from COVID-19, taking  the total to 40,597.

This announcement includes that both Scotland and Northern Ireland have no new reported deaths for the second consecutive day.

The UK is now the second country to pass the 40K death toll.

Recent Goverment reports have previously shown dips in numbers due to delayed weekend reports.

Many are fearful of a sudden surge in numbers or a second wave following recently relaxed lockdown rules and Black Lives Matter protests.
