Appeals for witnesses following assault and attempted robbery on Clee Road

Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses who saw two men acting suspiciously on Clee Road/Humberston Road, Grimsby in the early evening of Thursday 11th June.

A man walking alone on Clee Road, at around 4.30pm, was approached by two men who attempted to take his mobile phone from him.

The two suspects are reported to have punched the victim to the head causing bruising and swelling to his face.

The victim managed to retaliate and the two suspects left empty and headed towards Weelsby Woods.

The two suspects are described as both being white.

One was around 6ft tall, of average build, in his mid-30s and was wearing Nike trainers, grey jogger bottoms, a puffa style dark blue coat and a black Nike baseball cap.

The second man was about 5’ 10”, in his mid-30s of slim build and of ‘scruffy’ appearance with dark brown hair and a tattoo on his neck.

He was wearing blue Adidas trainers and a grey tracksuit.
