Wanted man in Doncaster police chase

A wanted man has been identified and arrested following a South Yorkshire Police chase through Doncaster.

Police officers spotted the car being driven through Balby and a pursuit was mounted when the driver failed to stop.

The man was driving a BMW which had been stolen from the Barnsley area.

Officers followed the vehicle through an estate, before the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

The suspect was then chased on foot, detained, and arrested.

He was subsequently found to be wanted by police, but has not yet been named by authorities.

South Yorkshire Police have not yet commented on the incident.
