Drive-in concert tickets go on sale

Tickets for a series of drive-in concerts in Lincoln went on sale yesterday.

The gigs at the Lincolnshire Showground will include performances by Dizzee Rascal, Gary Numan, Ash, The Lightning Seeds, Sigala.

They will take place between July 19 and the end of August.

There’s capacity for 300 cars at each gig.

Tickets are on sale for cars with two people for around £45 and for £142 for vehicles with up seven passengers.

Each car will be in a designated space with room for a boogie out of the car.

It comes at a time when the coronavirus has made most large gatherings, including concerts, all but impossible.

Peter Taylor of Live Nation said:

“This outdoor concert series was created as a way to reimagine the live music experience during a time of social distancing by allowing fans to enjoy concerts in the safest way possible.”

It is hoped that the drive-in concerts will be a substitute for the numerous shows and festivals that have been cancelled.
