Morning drugs raid in Grimsby

Officers for Humberside Police’s Operation Galaxy recovered drugs valued at more than £50,000 from a house in Grimsby this morning.

More than 100,000 tablets were found during a warrant at a property in Melrose Way, Grimsby.

The team also seized £4,000 in cash and a Rolex watch valued at £25,000.

A 59-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

Officers also discovered 41 cannabis plants growing in the back garden of a property on The Oval, Brough.

As a result of the warrant a 42-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs, cultivation of cannabis, and possession with intent to supply.

Today’s arrests take the total number of people brought into police custody over the last month to 621.

135 warrants have been carried out across the force.

However, those believed to be involved in drug related crime are not the only ones Humberside Police are targeting.

Since Friday, officers have also made a number of arrests linked to domestic abuse, sexual offences, violent crime and robbery.

These include four men and a woman for domestic abuse related offences, six men for sexual offences, eight men and a woman for violent crimes.
