Grandfather attacked by six men on Fuller Street

Details have been released following an incident where six men attacked a grandfather on Fuller Street bridge in Cleethorpes.

The incident is thought to have occurred at around 9pm on Friday 26 June.

Humberside Police have launched an investigation into the assault which allegedly took place following an altercation between the man, who was with his grandson at the time, and a group of six men.

The man suffered serious facial injuries.

Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw the gang carry out the assault and then head towards Cleethorpes Promenade on Friday between 8.45pm and 9pm.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said:

“The man spoke to the group before one of them reportedly assaulted him, leaving him with serious facial injuries.

“The suspect was described as white, in his early 20s, with short brown hair. He was wearing a black top and black shorts and was riding a black pedal cycle.

“The group then reportedly left in the direction of Cleethorpes Promenade.

“We are asking any witnesses, or anyone with information, to call our non-emergency 101 line quoting crime reference 16/67325/20. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
