Search for man wanted by SYP

South Yorkshire Police (SYP) have launched a public appeal and a search for a wanted man from Darfield.

Michael Clegg, 38, is wanted in connection with an assault and reportedly making threats to kill.

The incident is said to have happened in Goldthorpe in the early hours of 28 June.

Officers in Barnsley are asking for the help of the public to trace the wanted man.

Clegg is 5ft 9in and of slim build.

It is thought that he has links to Mexborough in Doncaster.

A spokesperson for the force said:

“If you see Clegg, please do not approach him but instead call 101.

“If you have any other information about where he might be, please call 101 quoting incident number 139 of 28 June.

“You can also give information to independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously via their website, or by calling their UK contact centre on 0800 555 111.”
