Pedestrian dies following train collision

Major incident at Little London level crossing

Emergency services have been on the scene today following a major incident at Little London level crossing in Stallingborough.

Train services to and from Grimsby were halted as a result of the incident.

The train involved appeared to have been heading towards town, and was halted on the track while officers inspected railway equipment at the scene.

Police closed the level crossing after what appeared to be collision on the railway track.

Emergency services and Network Rail staff attended the scene on the main road between Stallingborough and Immingham.

British Transport Police officers are also assisting.

Stallingborough Road was closed until around 11:30 on both sides of the rail track.

Motorists were diverted from Mathew Ford Way back towards Immingham.

No other vehicles were visible on the track, but a collision is believed to have occurred.
