Break-in in Healing
An elderly Healing couple were woken by a burglar during a break-in during the early hours of Friday morning.
Detectives are hunting a burglar who was disturbed while raiding the couples home as they slept.
The couple were awoken by the noise of the burglar ransacking their home in Radcliffe Road.
Jewellery was taken during what is now the second shocking break-in in the village.
The couple, who have not been named, but were described by Humberside Police as elderly, saw the offender leave the scene with their belongings.
This follows another incident where another 81-year-old victim from Healing was dragged from his bed in an earlier burglary.
In a statement released yesterday a spokesperson for Humberside Police said:
“Can you help us catch a burglar who targeted an elderly Healing couple?
“Our investigation is continuing today following the break-in at the house in Radcliffe Road, at around 3.30am on Friday, 3 July.
“The couple awoke after hearing someone moving around in the house and saw the offender fleeing with a quantity of jewellery.
“They’re being supported by our teams and as part of our ongoing enquiries, we would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything at the time of the break-in, or who has seen someone acting suspiciously in the area recently.
“We’re also appealing for anyone in the area with CCTV to check their footage and any drivers with dashcam footage to come forward.
“If you can help, please call our non-emergency 101 line quoting incident number 16/69640/20.”
Police say they are supporting the couple, and wish to hear from anyone who has CCTV and has seen anything suspicious from the footage.
