New business at former Scunthorpe nightclub
Scunthorpe’s former Britannia nightclub has been transformed and relaunched as the Britannia House business centre.
The venue on Britannia Corner was once the busiest nightclub in the town centre.
It served as one of Scunthorpe’s main nightspots for several years, but struggled to remain profitable and closed its doors on New Years’ Eve 2018.
The Britannia building was first opened in 1907 as a traditional ale house, before being converted into a bar and nightclub in 2010.
Sadly, following the closure of the nightclub in 2018 it stood empty for over a year.
But now, its future has been established as it is taken over and rejuvenated into one of Scunthorpes leading business centres.
The historic Britannia House has now become a modern office space, and is home to Know Film and Keystone Architecture Consultants.
Pete Hewes, the creative director of Know Film said:
“Britannia House is fast becoming an exciting hub of regeneration for business in the heart of North Lincolnshire.
“In the very centre of Scunthorpe, on the corner of the High Street and Frodingham Road, the distinctive building, a former public house, has recently been rejuvenated and relaunched as Britannia House.
“The fact is, North Lincolnshire – and Scunthorpe in particular – is alive with possibility right now.
“With so many innovative businesses and exciting community initiatives already working to help regenerate the area, Britannia House represents a beacon for the positive changes taking place.”
There are also plans for a restaurant and a bar in the location.
