Burglar seriously injured in fall

A suspected burglar has been seriously injured following a fall from the roof of a petrol station in Doncaster.

It is thought that the Doncaster man fell through the roof of the building while to trying to get into the property in the early hours of Friday morning.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said:

“Officers were called to a petrol station in Edlington, Doncaster, at 3am this morning (July 17) after a neighbour alerted police to the alarm sounding at the premises in Edlington Lane.

“A 42-year-old man was found injured at the scene.

“It’s believed he had fallen from the roof of the petrol station.

“The man, from Doncaster, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

“He remains in hospital at this time after suffering a serious head injury.”

Emergency services attended the scene.
The man was placed under arrest, and paramedics took the man to Doncaster Royal Infirmary for treatment.
He is thought to have sustained a serious head injury, although his condition is unknown.
