Man hospitalised after Holderness Road assault

Humberside Police Detectives are investigating after a man was hospitalised following an incident on Holderness Road in Hull.

The alleged assault is thought to have taken place shortly before 2.15pm yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 21 July.

It was reported that a man was walking when he began to be followed by a black Vauxhall Astra which allegedly collided with him before stopping.

A group of men got out of the car and reportedly assaulted the man before fleeing the area on foot.

The hit-and-run is believed to be a targeted attack.

Officers are now seeking witnesses to come forward with information.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.

In a statement released this afternoon, a Humberside Police spokesperson said:

“Investigations are underway to establish the circumstances of the incident however at this stage we do believe it to be a targeted attack.

“We ask anyone with information that may assist our enquiries to call our non-emergency 101 line quoting log 280 of 21 July or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
