Violent assault on Princess Elizabeth Playing Fields

Two 12-year-old boys were targeted by a group of teenagers during a violent attack on the Princess Elizabeth Playing Fields in Hull.

The incident is reported to have happened at around 7:30pm on Saturday 18 July.

Two boys have been arrested in connection with the incident, which led to both victims being hospitalised with a number of injuries.

The extent of their injuries is currently unknown, although they are thought to be minor.

Humberside Police have confirmed that an investigation has been launched following the violent assault, which took place on Princess Elizabeth Playing Fields.

Thus far, this has resulted in a 12-year-old boy, and a 14-year-old boy being arrested.

Both remain in police custody whilst enquiries continue.

A third boy is also said to be assisting with police enquiries, but it is not known whether he was a witness, or directly involved in the incident.

In a statement released yesterday evening, a spokesperson for the force said:

“We have extra officers conducting high visibility patrols in the area, we encourage anyone with concerns to speak to them.

“Anyone with information about the incident, who has not already spoken to us, is asked to call us directly on our non-emergency 101 line quoting investigation number 16/75573/20. 

“Alternatively you can report information anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In an emergency always dial 999.”
