Man arrested on suspicion of local burglary

South Yorkshire Police have confirmed that they arrested a man on suspicion of committing multiple house burglaries on a local Doncaster estate.

Officers said the 34-year-old suspect had been arrested on Duke Street in Doncaster town centre.

The offences were committed earlier this month at at least two addresses on Chalmers Drive, Clay Lane.

PC Gemma Ibbitson of South Yorkshire Police said:

“The arrests relate to a burglary which occurred earlier in the month on Chalmers Drive Clay Lane as well as a theft from dwelling at the same address.

“He was also suspected of a theft of a hairdryer from Boots in Frenchgate.

“He has since been interviewed for all offences.”

The suspect has yet to be named by authorities.
