Violent armed attack at Grimsby home

A 22-year-old has been arrested following a violent armed attack on a Grimsby man in his own home.

The incident is said to have taken place at around 4am on Wednesday 22 July, at an address on Convamore Road.

A man is alleged to have entered the property, before assaulting another man using a weapon.

The victim has been left with facial injuries.

The full extent of his injuries and his condition is not known.

The 22-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and burglary after police searched the area.

He remains in police custody while the investigation continues, Humberside Police have confirmed.

A spokesperson for the force said:

“A man has been arrested following reports that a man suffered facial injuries in an assault at an address on Convamore Road in Grimsby this morning, Wednesday 22 July.

“The attack happened shortly after 4am when a known man reportedly attended the address and assaulted the victim using a weapon.

“Officers were deployed to carry out a search of the area and a 22-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and burglary.

“He remains in our custody whilst enquiries continue.

“Anyone with information about the attack, who has not already spoken to us, is asked to call 101 quoting log 52 of 22 July or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
