Doncaster man arrested in suspected animal abuse case

South Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation into a video which appeared to show a man hitting a dog in the face.

In the video, a man can be seen hitting the dog three times in a horrific attack.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses, or anybody with further information to come forward.
It has been confirmed that a 26-year-old man from Doncaster has been arrested in connection with the suspected animal abuse case.
He has not been identified, and has since been released, but remains under investigation.
The welfare of the dog has been checked and it has been removed from his custody.
In a statement released this weekend, a spokesperson for the force said:
“Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 644 of 24 July.
“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously, by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting crimestoppers-uk.org”
